Aloha Nui Loa - hawaiian elopement on lanai

“All my love”

Aloha has no truly perfect translation, so trying to use English to describe the spirit of Hawaii kinda misses the gravity of what it is. However, when applied in the context of Katie and Josh’s Hawaii elopement, it pretty much sums up their experience.

K & J embodied that spirit for a stint on Lanai (a smaller Hawaiian island less-frequented by the slews of tourism) to exchange eternal vows. We wanted to bring as much honesty to their documentation as possible by representing Hawaii in a new way, all on the sweet surface of analog film.

By happenstance, K & J won a trip to the Four Seasons on Lanai, thus sparking their adventure to this beautiful island. It’s the only luxury hotel on the island, and by surprise, we were able to stay at the Four Seasons to document their elopement. Our overall review of the Four Seasons Lanai was nothing short of perfection – the staff truly went above and beyond for K & J, and even for us as their elopement photographers. We particularly loved snorkeling along the private coastline, tasting some of the best sushi ever at Nobu, and K & J experienced top-notch relaxation at their luxury wellness hotel, Sensei Lanai. As one of the only Lanai island hotels, it’s worth a trip.

Take a gander through K & J’s hawaiian elopement photos, and we hope it breathes the spirit of Hawaii across the screen.

Mahalo and enjoy.

As a Hawaii elopement photographer, I’ve had the honor of documenting love stories across the islands—each with its own rhythm, light, and spirit. From the quiet intimacy of Lanai to the wild cliffs of Kauai and the lush jungles of Maui, Hawaii offers an endless palette of beauty for couples who want something meaningful, unhurried, and real. Capturing K & J’s elopement on analog film was not only an artistic dream—it was a reminder of how sacred and grounding these moments can be.

If you’re in the dreaming phase of planning your elopement, there are so many incredible places to elope in Hawaii beyond the well-trodden paths. Whether you’re drawn to volcanic coastlines, hidden beaches, forested waterfalls, or the elegance of a luxury resort like the Four Seasons Lanai, there’s a place that matches your energy and story. I’m always happy to help couples find a location that feels aligned with their vision—whether that’s remote and wild or soft and slow.

The Four Seasons Lanai is truly a one-of-a-kind Hawaii elopement venue, especially for couples craving both privacy and luxury. With ocean views, intentional service, and proximity to untouched nature, it offers the rare chance to feel like you have an island to yourself. Whether you're planning a just-us-two elopement or something slightly more expansive, it’s a setting that elevates every moment.
